To say Marnie had been hurt before is quite the understatement. She had been abandoned by her mother and placed in many foster homes. She just never quite fit in until she met Taylor, an idealistic lawyer. Then, she ran away…
Fifteen years later, the past haunts her. Little does she know that it will save her. She stumbles through the ups and downs of caring for a boy with Down’s Syndrome, maintaining a business, and coming to terms with her past of rejection.
Finally, she discovers that life is “…about rejoicing in the life God gives you, even when it’s not the life you wanted or expected.” I shed many tears through the ending of this book. By the way, the ending is unpredictable, yet welcoming.
The reader can actually see Marnie heal throughout the book. This is a book to read and ponder. I recommend it!
